Senior Cloud Service Developer

About the position

We are a passionate about music and create a revolutionary product which will affect the way millions of people study and play music every day. We are searching for an experienced senior software engineer ready to join our effort and help us build the foundation of our solution – a scalable backend capable of handling thousands of simultaneous users by means of latest cloud technologies. Our product will provide millions of amateurs and professionals instant access to the majority of world’s music heritage.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish a scalable ecosystem of services to serve mobile/web clients around the world
  • Design and maintain ReST API’s in close collaboration with frontend teams
  • Operate services and troubleshoot failures and performance bottlenecks of different implementation languages and frameworks
  • Support automation of service life cycle operations and our CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to best-practices, improving code style and a culture of improvement over iteration
  • Ensure the solutions we create are secured to state of the art

What we expect from you

  • You have at least 6 years of experience in cloud service development and operations
  • You have multiple years of experience with AWS and GCP
  • You see Docker as an essential part of any large software project
  • Securing the services and data is a must-have to you
  • You are highly confident in writing Python (Flask/Django) and NodeJS (Express/Hapi) services
  • You have at least basic experience with Java (Spring/OSGi) or Rust (Rocket)
  • Writing shell scripts is a no-brainer for you
  • You are very confident in writing efficient SQL for at least PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB
  • Experience with ElasticSearch for implementing site-/domain-specific search
  • You do care about data and have experience with ETL’s and other data processing patterns
  • You know how to get the best out of Git
  • You are self-driven, flexible, collaborative and constantly learning
  • Fluent English skills

What will be a bonus

  • Experience in contributing back to open-source projects
  • You follow basic principles like DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself) and PFE (Proudly Found Elsewhere)
  • You prefer test driven development (TDD)
  • Experience in building CI/CD workflows using Jenkins pipelines
  • Kubernetes is your standard target runtime and you are confident in creating Helm charts
  • You are familiar with Python frameworks Pandas, Tensorflow, PyTorch and/or PySpark
